I'd like your recommendations, please

I'm almost finished with my book, and I don't have another lined up yet. This is a crisis for me. I need something and I need it fast! So I'm asking you all to advise me on the next book I should get. Please leave me comments with your favorite books, as well as why they are your favorites, if possible. Please help me bloggers...you're my only hope!

Hmmm...where do I begin!?!? I think it really depends on what kind of a mood you are in!

If you are in the mood for chick-lit, you can't go wrong with Jane Green, Sophie Kinsella or Jennifer Wiener (hee...wiener).

If you want something a little more heavy, I just finished The Other Boleyn Girl. It is basically about Anne Boleyn and Henry the VIII, told from Anne's sister's view. It was sooooo good!

My favorite book is Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follet. It is not a typical Ken Follet, it is about the building of a cathedral. I know that sounds kind of boring, but it is follows two famlies over several decades. Just an amazing book, I couldn't put it down!

Another fave of mine is Widow for One Year by John Irving. That was another one that I just couldn't put down! I didn't want it to end, so I re-read the last chapter after I finished...hee!

Gosh, I am so long-winded. That isn't even half of my list! Hope you find soemthing you like!

I love The Snow Falcon by Stuart Harrison. I enjoyed it so much when I read it. I've read it about 3 times so far. A man, some snow and a falcon. It's honestly good.

If you like murder-mysteries I'd start with the first Patricia Cornwell, JD Robb, Lisa Gaardner novels. All series, and I'm anal about reading in order (even though each one stands on it's own). I am currently going through Sara Paretsky novels. Fun!

Mysteries with a whole lot of humour - Janet Evanovich. A hoot and a half, that one!

Magic? You wanna Sorceress chick who kicks ass? Polgara by David & Leigh Eddings.

Um.. Anything more intelligent go with what other people tell you. Hee. My most intelligent one was the one about the falcon. :)

The best book I read in recent memory was Middlesex by Jeffrey (?) Eugenides.

The Folk of the Faraway Tree by Enid Blighton. No - honest. It's still one of my favourites...

I haven't read any good books lately, but I Know This Much is True is fantabulous. Get that one. Memoirs of a Geisha was good, God on a Harley is a sappy book, but a quick read. You'd be done in an hour. They don't have it at the library either. Let us know what you pick.

or if you want any history books, check guns germs and steel ... or american dynasty. i'm barely into that one, but it's good.

i like kids books, too. but i won't put a list down because i'd be embarrassed to say... and NO, it's not sweet valley high.

Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden - incredible first person narrative and beautiful writing. About training as a geisha in the midst of WWII.

Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card - amazing award winning sci-fi book. About the gov't recruiting young boys to train as military generals. A VERY SURPRISE ENDING!

As a blogger girl, you must read Why Girls Are Weird by blogger extraordinnaire Pamie. I read it in one night. I actually read it before I was truly into the blogging thing and would probably appreciate it even more these days. Either way, it's fabulous.

Other suggestions:
Good in Bed by Jennifer Weiner
Fight Club (not the movie version, the real one)
She's Come UndoneBack Roads by Tawnie O'Dell
